Hi Bernt Rune ! Here are some questions from the French fans for you ! Cause we often see you playing with Lene but unfortunately we don't know much about you...


Can you introduce yourself... Where are you from ? How old are you ? How did you become a guitarist,... ?

Hi I'm Bernt Rune Stray, 33 years old from Kristiansand south in Norway. I have lived in oslo the past 10 years as an professional musician. I have always had the passion for music and started playing guitar at the age of 7.


We have seen that you belong to a music band ! Can you tell us more about it ? Did your band release an album ?

I did have a band called "Stray", we only made two singles for airplay and sales. We were 3 friends making songs together, it was fun.


When and how have you met Lene ?

I met Lene in the studio, Lene’s producer Jørn Dahl was a member of "Stray" I think it was in 1997, she was so young...


Do you work with Lene on her songs ? Do you take part in the arrangements of the songs ? To what extent ?

Lene is writing her songs on her own, I only play the guitar and work as a Musical Director.


Why have you followed Lene from her beginning in the music business ? Are you the only musician who has accompanied her throughout her career ?

I haven't been there all the time, but I have always kept an eye on her. She means a lot too me both as a friend and as a songwriter, and think I'm the only musician that have worked with her since the very beginning.


Do you see a development from the Lene of the Playing My Game period to the current Lene ? Have you noticed particular changes ?

She has grown up, and her new songs reflect the way she observes the world through the eyes of a grown up person. Despite the fact that the wrapping and sound are a little bit different, she still has the ability to touch people with her music. The structure, the melodies, harmonics, and melancholic touch are still there and it's actually more similar than different compared to the songs on "Playing my game".


Which Lene's song (of all albums) do you prefer playing ?

I love all her songs, but if I have to mention one particular, it has to be "Faces".


You always look vivacious while playing with Lene (on stage)... Are you always so enthusiastic ? :-)

No, I'm not always so enthusiastic, but I love every second being on stage with that girl...
